Hi, I'm Nicola Mattis. 


Nicola is the high-energy spark in every brand transformation. She constantly feels that every brand has an opportunity to go from Clark Kent to Superman when you create that unique connection with the consumer. People do not remember product features; they remember how you make them feel when you create a great experience. It's not just gut, although that's her favorite part. The research, data and Insights in combination with gut drive the right action.

Nicola Mattis loves creating masterful, intoxicating brand moments. She’s an experience creator. She is the Founder and CMO of Brand Engineer Studios, where she builds individual Black STEM professional brands and tech companies.  She creates transformative brand experiences.

Nicola has over 15 years of brand marketing experience, leading many multi-million dollar brand campaigns in the tech consumer space for Ecolab, Travelocity, TiVo, and Udacity as well as executing special initiatives for FedEx. Unlocking a brand’s hidden story is her secret sauce.

Nicola graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies and African and African-American Studies. Later, she obtained an MBA from Wake Forest University with a concentration in brand management.
